Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority (“CapMetro,” or “the Authority”) is a public agency responsible for providing mass transit service within the City of Austin and the surrounding communities of Leander, Lago Vista, Jonestown, Manor, San Leanna, and Point Venture, as well as the unincorporated area of Travis County within Commissioner Precinct 2 and the Anderson Mill area of Williamson County.
CapMetro recently acquired an existing building located at 3100 E. 5th Street, Austin, Texas, which will become CapMetro’s new administrative headquarters. The building is an existing three-story, Class-A, core-and-shell structure recently built in 2020. The total building is approximately 183,000 SF. Portions of the first and second floors are the basis for this tenant improvement project. The Contractor, and their subcontractors and vendors, shall be knowledgeable and experienced with the construction of office tenant improvements, and building repairs and renovations.
Under this construction contract, CapMetro intends to hire a general contractor (“Contractor”) to construct the following tenant improvements and exterior improvements:
• Phase 1A – “Community Room and Board Room Suite” – approximately 9200 SF
• Phase 2 – “1st Floor and 2nd Floor Zones” – approximately 46,000 SF
• Audio/Visual system for Board Room, Under Phase 1A (as an allowance).
• Phase 0 – Covered Walkway Structure and Parking Lot Reconfiguration (as an allowance)
• Total = approximately 55,200 SF
The work also includes miscellaneous building and site improvements, plus an optional 9200 SF of interior office space construction on the 2nd floor.
