Junior ITS Project Manager Closes: February 8, 2015 Salary: $40,000 - $45,000 GRTC Transit System in Richmond, Virginia seeks a skilled candidate to aid in the management of GRTC’s network infrastructure and assist in implementation of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) projects.

JOB DESCRIPTION Under supervision of the IT Director, the position will manage projects of various size, including application maintenance, support and process improvement projects to accomplish the goals and objectives of several key projects simultaneously. Knowledge of IT architecture, infrastructure and networking is necessary.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Act as a liaison between GRTC Transit System and software application vendors with the installation of complex software programs. • Ensure that projects meet all deliverables through strong Project Management skills utilizing the standard phases of initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing. • Proven ability to influence across all departments without direct authority. • Work and communicate with all levels of staff and vendors. • Training and support of software applications to specified departments. • Assist with the development of business processes and procedures. • Coordinate activities with vendors during system implementation, upgrade, maintenance and support activities. • Develop project plans, timelines and milestones (including Gantt charts where appropriate). • Manage project documentation, communications, meetings and meeting minutes. • Conduct user group meetings when appropriate. • Facilitate meetings to resolve issues and/or gain consensus. • Assist the information systems department in various activities to provide high level support to all users to include hardware and software problem management.

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree – Information Systems preferred • 3 years experience in various areas of information systems/application support (transit experience preferred, specifically in run-cutting, scheduling/operator management) • 2 years in successful project management utilizing project management tools, systems development lifecycles and methodology • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills required • Training experience with software applications preferred • Experience with Microsoft SQL desired. • Strong Windows and Microsoft Office skills • Web development/maintenance experience desired • Great Plains experience a plus
