Summary
The Traction Electrification System (TES) Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating the day-to-day activities of personnel assigned to the maintenance and operation of electrified rail infrastructure. This position plays a key role in ensuring safe, reliable service by overseeing work on substations, overhead catenary systems (OCS), power feeders, and associated return circuits. The supervisor fosters a culture of safety, accountability, and technical excellence through training, guidance, and operational oversight. Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to emergency events outside of normal working hours, as needed.
This position is safety sensitive and subject to Valley Metro RPTA's Drug & Alcohol Program. Applicants for positions defined as safety sensitive are required to undergo drug testing prior to employment and, subsequent to commencement of employment, will be subject to random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, return to duty, and follow up testing.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
Associate’s degree in electrical repair and Installations or a related field, and four (4) years of journey-level experience in electrical or electronic maintenance, including at least one (1) year in a supervisory or lead capacity. Experience must include work with high-voltage systems or traction power infrastructure. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement. This may include completion of a recognized electrician apprenticeship program and additional directly related experience in high-voltage or traction power systems.
Medical Examination:
Employment for safety-sensitive positions is contingent on passing a physical examination performed by our examining physician.
Drug Examination:
Applicants for positions defined as safety sensitive are required to undergo drug testing prior to employment and, subsequent to commencement of employment, will be subject to random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, return to duty, and follow up testing.
Background Investigation:
Employment is contingent upon the results of a background check.
Incumbent is required to obtain within 90 days of hire, and maintain a current valid Arizona Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class B) with Air Brakes endorsement. Position requires the ability to maintain insurability under Valley Metro Vehicle Insurance Policy.

This position requires working non-traditional and/or odd hours, including holidays, and may be called in to work anytime during emergencies.
Incumbent may be subjected to working in high precarious places, working around high voltage electricity, in close quarters. Also subject to noises, risk of electrical shock; fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals and various outdoor weather conditions. A high degree of concentration is needed.
