The Transportation Operations Manager is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of NEMT vehicles and for the oversight of drivers and transportation providers. Must be able to work dependably with integrity and achieve a high level of work product output while supervising and mentoring Field Monitor.

This is for proposed business. All offers are contingent upon Transdev's award of the contract.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the safety of the vehicles.

  • Manage the network size to meet the needs of NEMT Members.

  • Work with Transportation Providers and the Customer Service Manager to resolve all Transportation Provider-related safety and service concerns.

  • Ensure trips are assigned and completed by eligible Transportation Providers.

  • Conduct investigations, both formal and root cause, to correct and modify behavior where necessary.

  • Responsible for ensuring employees’ compliance with all safety rules, procedures and company policies.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Licensing, and Certifications Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, such as GED, required.

Experience, Skills, and Knowledge Required:
  • At least 3 years’ professional experience in private or public transportation, preferably with experience in an NEMT or NMT program.

  • At least 1 year of professional experience coordinating services with Transportation Providers.

  • Familiarity with defensive driving, first aid, and other types of driver training is helpful.

  • Must have basic knowledge of vehicle preventive maintenance programs.

  • Experience with state and federal regulations related to transportation.

  • Must be capable of communicating clearly at all times and in all situations and interacting with diverse groups of people in a sensitive and understanding manner.

  • Candidate must be capable of demonstrating sound judgment, and good communication (writing and speaking) skills.

  • Basic computer skills are a requirement of this job.

  • Candidate must possess the ability to read and comprehend federal provisions, state and local laws, and contract provisions.

  • Working proficiency using MS Word, Excel, Outlook is required.

  • Excellent follow up skills are required.

Pre-Employment Requirements:
  • Must submit to drug testing and a criminal background check.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.

  • 100% of work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well ventilated facilities

  • Work is accomplished in an office or in a cubicle space equipped with a telephone and computer.

  • The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
