The South Florida Regional Transportation Authority ("SFRTA"), the operator of Tri-Rail, is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Senior Project Manager in the Department of Engineering & Construction to join our team.
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing, directing, and overseeing various professional and construction services under contract with the SFRTA. This role leads complex projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. The Senior Project Manager will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage stakeholder communications, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Expertise in engineering and construction is essential to driving project success and advancing the department’s objectives.
Essential Duties
- Project Oversight & Management: Manage, direct, and oversee the activities of engineering and construction firms or individuals under contract with SFRTA to ensure effective design, permitting, construction, and oversight efforts.
- Stakeholder Coordination & Compliance: Interface, coordinate, and provide support to federal, state, and local agencies, including the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), Federal Railroad Administration (FRA), and Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), ensuring projects align with regulatory and industry standards.
- Contract & Budget Management: Support contract evaluations and fee negotiations; prepare and review technical specifications and independent cost estimates. Monitor project schedules, billings, and financial reports to ensure appropriate allocation of labor hours, costs, and expenses. Review and approve consultant/contractor invoices.
- Quality Control & Performance Monitoring: Oversee adherence to quality control measures across all project phases. Conduct performance reviews of consultants and contractors, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
- Scope & Schedule Management: Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely execution of deliverables and milestone tracking.
- Conceptual Design & Technical Support: Perform conceptual designs and/or drawings to guide engineering and construction decisions. Provide technical expertise for project-related challenges.
- Reporting & Senior Management Communication: Provide project progress reports to senior management, highlighting key milestones, risks, and any concerns regarding production, quality control, or financial performance.
