At InfraStrategies, Schank will join partners Carolyn Flowers, Sharon Greene, Jeff Morales and Mike Schneider. His start date is Feb. 14, and he'll be based in the firm's Southern California office.

“My colleagues and I are pleased to welcome a person with Joshua’s stature, professional achievements and experience,” said Schneider, managing partner at InfraStrategies. “He will add immeasurably to our capabilities and thought leadership in the transportation and infrastructure space through his unique and specialized experience in policy, strategy, program management and project development.”

Schank has been with Metro since 2015, when he was named chief innovation officer to lead the newly created Office of Extraordinary Innovation. At Metro, he has developed and implemented several initiatives, including a P3-based Pre-Development Agreement process for the Sepulveda Transit Corridor, on-demand microtransit service and the agency’s Vision 2028 Strategic Plan.

“I look forward to using the lessons we’ve learned about public-private partnerships, innovation and strategic policy at Metro to help others in the transportation industry,” Schank said.

Before his tenure at Metro, Schank was president and chief executive of the Eno Center for Transportation. He also has served as Director of Transportation Research for the Bipartisan Policy Center in Washington, D.C., and Transportation Policy Advisor to the office of Sen. Hillary Clinton.

InfraStrategies was founded in 2018 with a mission to link infrastructure project development and construction with project financing and funding, for both capital programs and long-term operations and maintenance. Clients include transit authorities, states and municipalities, DOTs, regional agencies, international governmental entities and private companies and entrepreneurs engaged in developing and deploying new technologies in transportation and infrastructure. It has offices in Irvine, Calif.; Los Angeles; Sacramento; Las Vegas; Washington, D.C.; and Charlotte, N.C.
