BUS STOP FURNITURE FABRICATION AND INSTALLATION

Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority (“Capital Metro,” “CMTA” or “the Authority”) is a public agency responsible for providing mass transit service within the City of Austin and the surrounding communities of Leander, Lago Vista, Jonestown, Manor, San Leanna and Point Venture, as well as the unincorporated area of Travis County within Commissioner Precinct 2 and the Anderson Mill area of Williamson County. Capital Metro operates fixed route bus and rail services, paratransit and rideshare.

Under the Authority's Coordinated Bus Stop Furniture Program, Capital Metro will deliver pieces of uniquely attractive, functional street furniture that provides a variety of public services across the CMTA service area. CMTA is seeking bids from qualified general contractors and/or entity capable to procure, fabricate, deliver and install new street furniture. The street furniture includes shelters, benches, litter receptacles and solar lights as described in Exhibit F of the solicitation. Small quantity concrete work is also anticipated under this contract in order to facilitate the proper foundation for the shelters.

The goals of the Coordinated Bus Stop Street Furniture Program are to:

• Organize and install new street furniture, providing exceptional design quality

• Meet service standard guidelines

• Improve operations and maintenance

The bidder (general contractor) must bid on the same advertised specifications, terms, and conditions in all items.

The duration of the work shall be complete within three hundred sixty-five (365) calendar days from construction notice to proceed.

General Specifications

1. The winning bidder shall provide the pre-assembled product which requires no further welding and is delivered in a secure and labeled package/crate.

2. To facilitate installation, the pre-installation manufactured component shall be modular in design.

3. Throughout the Scope of Work, all described features and other requirements are the minimum criteria that shall be acceptable to the Authority. Items offered by bidders must meet or exceed the minimum criteria.

4. All items shall be constructed in accordance with the specifications and drawings provided in Volume II. Unless otherwise provided in this Scope of Work, the contractor’s final interpretation of the specifications and drawings must be completed at least fourteen (14) calendar days before fabrication of goods and any proposed variations are to be brought to attention of the Authority’s Project Manager for approval.

5. Bidders who wish to offer equivalent products must submit, by the timelines specified in Exhibit F, descriptive literature detailed enough for the Authority to determine approval if the product offered is equal to that described in the Statement of Work.

6. Provide a minimum five (5) year warranty beginning on date of CMTA’s acceptance.
