Mystery Traveler Job Description and Requirements This is an ongoing assignment that will start new riding and reporting requirements on local transportation services, monthly. As a “Mystery Traveler” you should be discreet about your responsibilities during each ride, and blend in with the customers using the public transportation service. If at any time you are recognized as a mystery traveler (compromised), you may be taken off of the schedule for an undeterminable amount of time.
At the beginning of each month, you will be contacted by the project manager. They will give you your route schedule that you will be required to ride each month. You will be reimbursed for fare payments.
In any given month, you will not be asked to ride more than 15 routes / rides. The specific routes will be given to you, based on your location and accessibility to the transportation system. We try to do our best to work with your proximity. There are key times of the day that we request you to ride. That can be discussed based on your availability and preference.
You cannot detour from the schedule given, without prior written approval from the project manager. You will only be compensated for the completed scheduled rides you were assigned each month.
When you ride a route, you are required to take a photo prior to boarding and then when departing (2 required photos total). All surveys need to be entered into the electronic database within 24 hours after the ride has taken place.
Your completed time sheets for payment need to be submitted to the project manager by the last day of each month. Once your time sheet and rides have been verified, you will receive a check (or direct deposit) by the 10th day of the following month.
You are responsible for your own transportation to and from the transportation hubs.
