Charlotte Area Transit System’s (CATS) Bus Operations Division has an opening for a Maintenance Quality Training Manager.
Selected individual will manage a team that provides technical training (classroom and floor level) to the diesel mechanics. Responsible for leading a team of individuals who plan, implement and execute the quality assurance and training programs in the BOD Maintenance Dept. Includes providing technical support to the shop supervisors. Manages a team focusing on resolving common fleet failures as determined by road calls, lot defects, PM Inspections by conducting individual and small group training sessions on each shift. Responsibilities include, maintaining vendor relations and plays a key role in warranty administration.
Preferred candidate should have a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering Technology or Diesel Repair Technology with experience in Urban Transportation Quality Assurance environment preferred. Evidence of additional years of specific related experience within maintenance transportation field with a combination of training, certificate/diploma in Diesel Repair Technology and four (4) years’ experience in bus maintenance/heavy vehicle maintenance will be considered in lieu of college degree. Must be able to possess and maintain a valid Class “B” Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger & Air Brake Endorsements. Knowledge of engine, transmission, electrical, electronic, air brakes, pneumatic, hydraulic and air conditioning systems required.
Salary: $59,000 to $69,250, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
