CATS Classification and Compensation Study

Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) is seeking a contractor to perform a comprehensive evaluation of all positions and job classifications within the CATS Department. The study objectives include the following aspects: classification alignment, salary alignment, career progression, justifiable pay differentials and market competitiveness as detailed below:

• Ensure positions with similar nature and complexity of work are appropriately classified within the current classification structure. Identify potential new classifications as needed.

• Provide career pathway recommendations that provide opportunities for compensation growth.

• Ensure that distinctions between classifications are justifiable.

• Analyze market pay data to ensure a competitive position with the external market while recognizing internal job worth hierarchies.

• Provide salary grade recommendations that align with job classification responsibilities.
