System Administrator The Minnesota Valley Transit Authority (MVTA) was founded in 1990 and provides public transit services through a Joint Powers Agreement to the cities of Apple Valley, Burnsville, Eagan, Prior Lake, Rosemount, Savage, and Shakopee, MN (southern suburbs of the Twin Cities). Since its founding, MVTA has grown to be the second largest public transit agency in the state with nearly 3 million rides in 2016. MVTA’s hallmark is a focus on customer service and we are proud to operate 32 routes, including local, express, and bus rapid transit, with approximately 165 buses that are housed at two bus garages. MVTA’s system includes seven transit stations and seven park and ride lots that have a combined capacity of more than 6,300 spaces.

We have an outstanding opportunity for a System Administrator who is responsible for the integrity, performance and configuration of system environments for MVTA. The System Administrator will be accountable for all of the core technology and systems needed to maintain essential business functions in conjunction with all currently deployed MVTA software systems.

Qualifications: •Four-year Undergraduate’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or related field •Three (3) years of experience in IT with help desk application support, application administration, or system administration experience •Experience with Windows and Windows server administration required. •Experience with Microsoft SQL server administration required.

Salary Range $61,802.92 - $92,704.38 annual DOQ.
