The Assistant Superintendent for Train Control, manages, supervises and coordinates the activities and operations within the Train Control Maintenance Division of the Maintenance and Engineering Department; coordinates assigned activities with other divisions, departments and outside agencies. Position requires walking, standing, sitting, light lifting, bending, stooping, and kneeling in order to evaluate preventive maintenance and inspection.

Some Essential Job Functions(but not limited to)

-Assumes management responsibility for the installation, maintenance, repair, and modification of systems within the Train Control Maintenance Division; this includes programs for: electronic train control systems, central control, control displays, station data gathering systems, and other systems that support real-time train operations. -Assists in the management, development, and implementation of goals, objectives, policies and priorities for assigned programs. -Monitors and evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures; recommends within departmental policy, appropriate service and staffing levels.

Minimum Qualifications Education: A Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, electronics, computer engineering or a closely related field from an accredited college or university. Experience: Four (4) years of (full-time equivalent) verifiable experience in train control, communications, telecommunications, computers, and/or automatic fare collection maintenance programs. At least two (2) years must have included supervisory or administrative experience.
