VIA Metropolitan Transit is currently seeking candidates for the position of Vice President of Procurement .San Antonio is one of the fastest growing cities in the U.S. and VIA continues to plan and implement innovative and proactive approaches to support and sustain that growth. This position is responsible for developing and directing the programs and activities of VIA’s acquisition functions, including procurement and contract administration. Will be accountable for all issues and activities relating to the acquisition of equipment, materials, supplies, construction and services. Responsible for the oversight, direction and implementation of the agency’s Small Business/Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program, including compliance, outreach, certification, training, technical assistance and all related activities. Provides leadership and vision in achieving best practices in Procurement and Small Business participation. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field. Minimum ten (10) years management/supervisory experience in the areas of Procurement and Contracts Administration. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be acceptable.
