JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES: Under supervision of the Transit Program Manager, provides supervision to multiple transportation specialists and professional support in transit planning activities assigned to Transit Program within the Division of Intermodal. The Transit Planning Manager plays a key role in carrying out the mission of the GDOT Transit Program to support the planning of transit systems at the statewide level and to support the transit activities carried out by metropolitan planning organizations (MPOs), regional commissions (RCs), and local jurisdictions, as appropriate. This position oversees the interface between the GDOT Transit Program and planning agencies across Georgia. This position may also be involved in public and stakeholder outreach activities and providing information to state, regional, and local decision-makers and the public on public transit issues and opportunities in Georgia.
