Overview:
Become a part of the Transdev team as a Safety Manager at our proposed business location in Quincy, Massachusetts. This position will be responsible for developing, communicating, and enforcing safety policies and procedures at the transit location in compliance with federal, state, local regulations and Transdev policies.

Location consists of 86 buses for the fixed route operation of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (Quincy location). 

This is for proposed business. All employment offers are contingent upon Transdev winning the proposal for business.

Responsibilities:
  • Recruits and maintains adequate number of operators to provide effective and safe service

  • Ensures a consistent safety culture at the location by conducting safety training and meetings to ensure all staff are adequately trained and understands safety and security standards

  • Maintain reporting and risk management tools in an updated and correct fashion

  • Ensures contract compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and Transdev/client policies

  • Sets the tone for the location as the expert in EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), CDL compliance and regulations

  • Oversees the successful completion of all safety related audits at location

Qualifications

Education & Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years experience supporting applications, network, server and desktops

  • Ability to configure servers and manage computer networks, troubleshoot and solve desktop applications, operating systems and networking software problems.

  • Ability to write clearly and to document IT related processes and procedures in non technical language for inclusion in employee handbooks and manuals; Ability to assist with training and presentations.

  • Must be able to plan and manage projects to implement improvements within deadlines.


Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work shifts or flexible work schedules indoors and in air conditioned or well ventilated facilities

  • Long periods of sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen in an office or in a cubicle space
