MV Transportation is seeking a Safety and Training Manager, who will develop training and safety programs for bus operators to ensure positive results. He/she will supervise all day to day activities of Safety Trainer, BTW Trainers and Cadet Trainers, while also monitoring and evaluating all aspects of the training program.

Job Responsibilities:

• Interview new hire operators. • Complete new hire paperwork. • Conduct new hire orientation. • Providing and managing classroom and behind the wheel training in accordance to corporate and client requirements. • Monitor, track, and evaluate all aspects of the training program. • Manage all day to day activities of the Safety Trainer, BTW Trainers and Cadet Trainers. • Conduct safety meetings. • Conduct the Accident Review Board. • Member of Safety Committee. • Oversee, conduct, and evaluate all operator refresher training. • Review all vehicular, passenger and employee accident/incident for determination of cause and preventability, identifying potential trends to be addressed in future training efforts as well as ensuring that retraining and safety points are assessed according to company policy. • Conduct post-accident, DriveCam, and return to work retraining. • Document, track, evaluate, and audit all training records. • Ensuring performance reviews, safety ride checks, and evaluations are conducted. • Conduct performance reviews on Safety Trainer, BTW Trainers and Cadet Trainers. • Conduct Road Supervisor Training Program. • Assist Safety & Security Director with safety and security audits. • Manage corporate incentive programs, including the assignment of safety points. • Assist operations and maintenance in identifying the need for refresher or additional training based on employee trends. • Hire and manage all training department staff to include Safety Trainer, BTW Trainers, and Cadet Trainers. • Ensure all training materials are up to date and inventories are kept up and secure. • Provide regular reports on safety efforts, training, accident history, workers compensation claim status, and any other required information. • Oversee DMV 3rd party testing program. • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Safety and Security.

Talent Requirements:

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent. • Certifications according to local contract requirements.

Experience:

• Previous passenger transportation experience in the current project. • Previous training/safety experience. • Excellent safety and service record.

Knowledge, Ability and Skills:

• Knowledge of local training program. • Knowledge of service area. • Knowledge of local vehicles, components and communications systems. • Ability to work independently. • Knowledge of windows based computers and MS Office. • Excellent customer service skills. • Ability to read, write, and speak English. • Excellent organizational skills.
