Position Summary:
The Signal Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the maintenance, testing and repair of the commuter rail train control and signal system in accordance with state regulations and FRA Part 234 and 236. The Supervisor directs and organizes daily work crew activities to assure safe and reliable operation of the commuter rail system.

Description of Duties:
  • Issues work assignments to Signal Maintainers assuring timely and accurate completion of required work

  • Develop and implement a program for routine inspections and testing of signal systems

  • Establish and update detailed written procedures for system inspections and preventative maintenance

  • Schedule required safety inspections and tests of train control equipment ensuring proper documentation and record keeping and maintains up to date and accurate records of inspections, repairs, calibrations, and tests in the AssetWorks LinearFocus module

  • Oversees testing and repair of faulty equipment and apply knowledge of functional operation of electronic units and systems to diagnose cause of malfunction and replaces defective components and wiring and adjust mechanical parts

  • Provides guidance, feedback, coaching, mentoring and timely performance reviews for Signal Maintainers

  • Ensure adherence of all rules, policies, guidelines and SOPs and addresses issues, concerns and violations.

  • Schedules and tracks calibration and repair of testing instruments

  • Ability to instruct/cross train on inspection, maintenance, testing and repair tasks

  • Maintains the Operations Control Center (OCC) system, responding to trouble reports from users

  • Coordinates with subcontractor personnel in maintaining the OCC System

  • All other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required.

  • Associates degree from an accredited college or university in electrical or electronics or other job related field highly preferred

  • Minimum of three years of experience in related field of electrical, railroad signaling and train control inspection, maintenance and repair required

  • Ability to comply with all safety rules and instructions including the use of proper personal protective equipment

  • Demonstrated ability to work under tight schedules and deadlines while maintaining system quality and reliability

  • Minimum one year in a leadership role in system maintenance and repair required

  • Must have strong teamwork and leadership qualities

  • Ability to prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks with minimal supervision

  • Must be able to work scheduled overtime and be available for non-scheduled emergency call outs outside of assigned work hours

  • Must pass a pre-employment physical examination, pre-employment drug/ alcohol testing and willing to comply with the DTO Drug and Alcohol Policy

  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and successfully pass a pre-employment background check

  • Must possess a valid Colorado driver’s license and clean driving record
