Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Associate Director for The National Transit Institute at the Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy. The National Transit Institute is a training and education resource for the transit industry nationwide and has been working with the Federal Transit Administration since 1992. The Associate Director reports to the Director of NTI and oversees the Institute’s central mission—creating, implementing and assessing continuing education course program deliverables and manages course performance with the goal of aligning NTI course offerings with career development needs for the public transportation industry.

Among the key duties for this position are the following: • Directs the implementation of NTI policies and procedures, serves as a primary representative of NTI curriculum development. • Promotes NTI at conferences and events • Serves as lead on specific NTI projects • Responsible for major project decisions, metrics, and client satisfaction. • Demonstrates leadership role in forming and maintaining productive working relationships with Federal Transit Administration, agencies, partnership organizations and other educational institutions.

Minimum Education and Experience • Master’s degree in planning, public policy, transportation, or related field. • At least 5 years work experience in public transportation to include policy development or senior managerial positions and experience in an environment of training or education.
