Summary
Trolley Operator is responsible for the safe operation of Trolley vehicles and for ensuring the safe transport of all system users. The Trolley Operator position is part-time.

Weekend and evening hours will be required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Monitors all on-board conditions to ensure that vehicles are operating as designed and that system user’s board, travel and disembark safely.

  • Successfully perform all duties required for safe trolley operations.

  • Assures that all trolley operations occur within safe limits of speed, route, dwell, and other characteristics of the operations.

  • Coordinates with and responds to Dispatch Supervisor’s direction in all aspects of revenue service operations on the mainline and yard.

  • Assists customers with the use of Trolley services and emergency procedures.

  • Keeps passengers informed of current conditions through announcements on public address system.

  • Maintains constant communication with the Dispatch Supervisor exchanging information on abnormal conditions

  • Professional and courteous demeanor toward passengers at all times

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Education and/or Experience
Minimum of high school diploma or general education degree (GED); Two years related work experience and/or training desirable. Must successfully complete trolley operations training program.

Language Skills
Ability to speak, read, and write English in a work setting. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and . Ability to effectively and clearly present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Possession of a valid Class B CDL license with Pass Endorsement, including Air Brake Test Pass Endorsement license in the appropriate class and any other certificates, licenses and registrations as required by law to perform the specified functions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch, and must have visual acuity and hearing capability to perform the essential functions of the job. The job requires lifting of 20lbs to 50lbs.
