Description of Work
This is advanced professional supervisory and technical work in transit service planning and scheduling for the Central Florida Area. This position is mission critical for the Agency in that the Manager of Service Planning is responsible for planning; assigning and reviewing the work of subordinates engaged in various time sensitive transit service planning and scheduling activities. Responsibilities include designing operationally feasible transit plans, conducting transit service monitoring and evaluation functions, directing departmental research activities, coordinating transit service planning with other divisions and outside agencies including SunRail, implementing programs for the transportation disadvantaged, and resolving day-to-day transit service delivery problems. This position requires the incumbent to exercise considerable independent judgment in managing a variety of transit service planning and scheduling activities.
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Planning, Business, Statistics, Transportation or a related field and six (6) years of related service planning experience of which two (2) years have been in a supervisory capacity. Skilled in the operation of a personal computer and associated software including applications for word processing, spreadsheets, database and Trapeze FX scheduling software. Two (2) additional years of related service planning experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted for one (1) year of required education. Experience in transit service scheduling and related labor/contract issues is desired.
Pay range: $61,168 to $96,339 per year plus benefits.
