Position Summary:

The Track Maintainer performs labor intensive day to day track and infrastructure repairs and maintenance as directed by the Track Supervisor or Track Inspector. This position requires use of both manual tools and power equipment.

Description of Duties:

• Maintain trackway features such as ballast, sub-ballast, ties, rails, and other items as directed
• Inspect, remove and replace PANDROL clips, tighten or replace track bolts and other rail fastening hardware
• Remover dust, dirt, grease, snow, ice, and waste material from tracks, switches and structures
• Paint machines or equipment to prevent corrosion
• Bend and cut rail and replace rail sections as required
• Load and unload work trucks and clean and maintain work areas in orderly condition
• Operate equipment, once trained for this role/task
• Perform welding functions, if trained for this role
• Repair boundary fencing and barriers
• Concrete work (cut, demo, pour, finish) as needed
• Clear clogged track drains and culverts
• Perform weed and vegetation control and removal on the right of way
• Must perform duties in a safe and reliable manner
• Must act as a professional and responsible representative of the partnership and RTD
• Must comply with all safety sensitive job requirements and testing
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Previous work experience as a track worker is preferred
• Must be able to complete and understand Roadway Worker Protection training
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and successfully pass a background check
• Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug, and alcohol screen and be willing to comply with the DTO Drug and Alcohol Policy
• Must possess a current Colorado driver’s license
