GOING PLACES! GoDurham is a public transportation agency serving the City of Durham, North Carolina.

General Manager of Fixed Route Durham City Transit Company seeks a seasoned leader with extensive experience and a thorough understanding of transit operations to provide oversight for the GoDurham organization’s fixed route service. The General Manager sets the direction, tone and priorities for transit operations staff with goals of providing safe, reliable and efficient transit services. This position has the overall responsibility for managing and providing leadership to GoDurham’s Bus and Maintenance operations. The General Manager is also responsible for assisting with preparation of the operations annual budget for review and approval.

Innovation, energy, a sense of humor, with experience in social media outreach and the ability to retain quality top operators and mechanics are a must. The successful candidate will also play an integral part in ensuring compliance with regulations and the filing of reports required by the Federal Transit Administration and other State and Federal agencies.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Transportation, or related field with at least ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in transit operations. The ideal candidate will be an exceptional communicator and be able to show a demonstrated ability to establish credibility, lead by influence, and exercise strong decision making skills. This individual must be effective at managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines and able to prioritize conflicting demands, organize time and resources to deliver solid and consistent results and bring assignments to successful completion.
