Job Summary/Duties:
This is a professional level position working as both individual contributor as well as in teams that support the enterprise quality mission. This position is responsible for quality activities that require a high level of investigative and analytical experience coupled with a strong sense of project management. Responsible for developing quality programs, auditing, observing, testing, diagnosing, identifying, analyzing and recommending solutions while developing, tracking and following up on corrective actions. Ensures successful implementation and sustainability of quality programs and will review programs yearly to ensure alignment with mission, safety, reliability and customer success of the enterprise. Employees in this position work under the direction of a Quality/Asset Mission Assurance Manager with considerable latitude for exercising independent judgment in the execution of their responsibilities.
  • Documentation: Reviews and/or interprets complex documents, i.e. engineering documents, policies, standard operating procedures, processes, contracts, work instructions etc.

  • Documentation: Creates complex documents, i.e. root cause analysis (RCA) reports, findings, corrective action plans, project management plans, business process diagrams, policies, standard operating procedures, processes, work instructions etc.

  • Data Analysis: Researches and evaluates data using analytical and logical reasoning to gather, review and form a finding or conclusion.

  • Root Cause Analysis: Performs problem solving techniques to identify root causes of faults or problems.

  • Audits and Inspection: Performs both audits and inspections of key WMATA systems.

  • Test/Diagnostic Equipment: Reads, interprets and understands test/diagnostic equipment.

  • Process Improvement: Uses information from quality activities and develop solutions to optimize systematic organizational processes.

  • Corrective Actions: Develops corrective action plans and follow-up on corrective action plans to fix and/or eliminate a problem that has already occurred or been identified within the organization.

Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree and emphasis on quality, engineering, or information systems and data analytics, or a related field. A minimum of four (4) years of progressive responsibility and experience in the field of quality and audit.

Or, an equivalent combination of post high school education and a minimum of eight (8) years of progressive responsibility and experience in the field of quality and audit.

License:
Possession of a current or the ability to obtain, a valid local motor vehicle operator’s license issued from the state of residence.

Ability to acquire an ASQ (American Society of Quality) certification as a CQA (Certified Quality Auditor) within three (3) years of hire.

Medical Group:
Ability to satisfactorily complete the medical examination for this position. The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of this position either with or without reasonable accommodations.
