MTA BUS COMPANY EXAM NO. 1305 Filing Period: May 25, 2011 - June 14, 2011 FILING FEE: $54.00 (non-refundable)

JOB DESRIPTION: Receives, checks, classifies, stores and distributes materials and supplies at the storerooms and facilities of the MTA Bus Company system. This includes: the operation of all material handling equipment; data processing and maintenance of inventory transaction documents; the loading and unloading of trucks; and all activities related to normal warehousing and distribution functions. Keeps records, takes inventory, handles obsolete and scrap materials. Drives automotive vehicles.
REQUIREMENTS: By the last day of the filing period you must have: Three years of full-time satisfactory experience as a stock assistant, stock clerk, or stock worker in an industrial, manufacturing, or wholesaling business which stocks railroad, automotive, machine, aircraft or marine maintenance tools, production parts, or plumbing, hardware or sheet metal supplies and tools; OR two years of full-time satisfactory experience as described and a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent; OR a satisfactory equivalent of education and successful experience. Must also be able to lift heavy objects up to 75 lbs. without the use of a mechanical device and work outside in all weather conditions.
Stock work experience must be in an industrial, manufacturing or wholesaling business; stock work experience in a retail environment will not be credited toward meeting the required qualifications. At the time of appointment, eligible candidates must possess a Motor Vehicle Driver License valid in the State of New York. Serious moving violations, license suspension, or accident record may disqualify an otherwise eligible candidate.
