Sept. 30, 2014

Former transit executive Celia Kupersmith has joined the executive search firm KL2 Connects LLC, which was formed in August by the merger of KL Executive Search LLC in Kensington, Md., and DVR Associates in Asheville, N.C.

Kupersmith most recently served as the Deputy CEO of Seattle's Sound Transit. She retired from that post in 2012. Kupersmith also served as the General Manager/CEO of the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway, and Transportation District for 11 years and before that was Executive Director of the Regional Transportation Commission in Reno, Nev.

Kupersmith served two stints with APTA's Executive Committee, including serving as Chair of the Board of Directors in 2002/2003. She also served on the Transportation Research Board's Project Selection Committee.

"We're extremely excited that Celia has agreed to join the KL2 team," said Tony Kouneski, principal. "She brings to the table extensive public transit knowledge, a wealth of relevant industry relationships, and a great deal of goodwill that she has earned over a long and storied career. Our clients are going to love her energy and can-do approach."
